Church Wedding - wildly romantic and whimsical, in traditional venue at Merchant Taylors Hall London

Updated: Jun 20, 2020

Wedding Bank, London

In July I had the honour of creating Wedding flowers for the loveliest couple Emma and Chris who married at St Bartholomew the Great, West Smithfield with their Wedding reception held at Merchant Taylors Hall in the City of London. I was lucky to work with Rachelle from Trust in Love Weddings a Wedding and Event planner who planned and styled their stunning bespoke Wedding as the couple are both very busy professionals. Rachelle created a mood board to show me ideas and a beautiful colour palette of light blush pink, whites, greens and navy blue. The theme being whimsical and wild but in a traditional venue. Thank you to my lovely couple for allowing me to share these beautiful wedding photos from Saint Bartholomew the Great and Merchant Taylors Hall, and to photographer Ben Minnaar Photography who captured their special day.

Wedding St Bartholowmew The Great Church

St Bartholowmew The Great is a Church with so much history and is one of the oldest churches in the City of London. For those of you who haven't been inside you might recognise it from scenes of a few famous movies. We created two large vases of flowers to stand on metal stands either side of the altar. These were re-purposed after the ceremony and moved to the entrance of Merchant Taylors Hall to greet guests as they arrived at the reception venue. The Grooms auntie made some small posies of flowers for the pews.

Wedding Table Flowers Taylors Merchant Hall

The magnificient Great Hall dates back to the 14th century with a 13 metre high ceiling offering a fabulous height and space for tall table arrangements. The room was laid out with long tables around a square dance floor set in the centre of the room.

Stunning wedding table arrangements Merchant Taylors Hall

Beautifully designed and styled by Rachelle we created 19 tall arrangements that provided wow focal statements in the stunning room with high ceilings. These arrangements on tall stands that were 1 metre tall to allow guests to still take to each other across the table. Adding extra details with bud vases underneath and running the length of the table as well as candles and tealights.

Small bud vases were placed in groups along the centre of the long tables. Rachelle styled the table with taper candles and also tealights.

'We absolutely loved the finished result and I couldn't have been happier with the high flowers in the reception plus the low level ones trailing along the tables and the burger stand. Then there were the bouquets - they were stunning!!
It all looked so amazing people are still commenting on how fabulous the room looked. The flowers bought it to life and gave the WOW factor.
Thank you so much for all your hard work. I gather you and your team were there after the reception, into the wee hours and the following day. Much appreciated, Emma and Chris.'

A big thank you to Emma and Chris for sharing your gorgeous photographs from Ben Minnaar Photography showing your extra special Wedding day.

These floral decorations are flexible and work well in venues with tall ceilings like Merchant Taylors Hall and being based near Richmond we do work in many other London and Surrey venues.
